HOMELESS KIDS

Delhi – India. June 2009. More than 150 000 children are wandering on the dodgy streets of Delhi, just like millions of poverty-stricken kids across India. Most of them are boys aged between 5 and 15. They survive as beggars, thieves or rubbish collectors. Drugs and violence are part of their everydaylife. The Indian government, which will be hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2010 is having a hard touch with these children. Policemen usually beat them up while they are sleeping inside the train station or touristic sites. Meanwhile, charity organizations are providing some these children with free food, shelter and education, hoping for a brighter future.
